Professor Dong Joo KIM's laboratory is a recognized leading research group in the field of concrete engineering, conducting a variety of challenging research projects, including ultra-high-strength fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC), the effects of high strain rates on material behavior, evaluating the electromechanical behavior of construction materials, cement-free ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), non-destructive testing of concrete structures using electrical resistance, and macrotomography for assessing internal damage in infrastructure. Recently, we have been focusing on the development of meta-construction materials and structures that do not exist in nature, and are conducting research on meta-concrete materials and structural systems with negative Poisson's ratio.
