About the Prof.
Professor Park works across a wide range of research topics in the field of geotechnical earthquake engineering. His research group has a number of acclaimed accomplishments including development of globally widely used nonlinear ground response analysis program and pore pressure model. He is actively involved in a broad spectrum of pioneering research, including soil–structure dynamic interaction, probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, seismic design for underground structures, and next-generation geotechnical investigation methods. In addition to utilization of high-resolution numerical models, he focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into geotechnical engineering. Current projects include the development of a machine learning-based ground response analysis agent, meta-cognitive model for autonomous design, AI peer reviewer developed from LLM, and generative models for creating virtual geotechnical datasets.
