Short Biography

Dr. Han is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hanyang University. He earned MS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009 and 2013, and a MS degree in Computer Science from Columbia University in 2012. He joined the department in September 2016, after serving as a faculty member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada.
   He has research interests in the areas of construction automation and informatics for computer-aided decision making. His recent research projects include mixed reality (e.g., VR/AR) for quality inspection and control, digital twin technology for construction resource management, motion data-driven simulation modeling for ergonomic analysis, data mining for proactive accident prevention, and high dimensional spatial data processing for GIS data analysis.
   He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Korean Society of Civil Engineers. He has served as an assistant specialty editor of the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management and as a reviewer for several journals (e.g., ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, Automation in Construction).
