Prof. Choi’s research interests are focused on the design of steel structures and long span bridges for roadway and railway. He has conducted many research projects related to steel structures: advanced buckling analysis for steel-cable stayed bridges, fracture and fatigue behavior of steel members, and design of corrugated soil-steel arch and box structures. He has a special interests in the analysis and design of cable-supported bridges such as the cable-stayed bridges and multiple suspension bridges, interaction between vehicles and bridges for railway, and analysis and design of offshore structures. He has participated in publication of design specifications: Korean Highway Design Specifications, Korean Railway Design Specifications, and Korean Load and Resistance Design of Steel Structures. He is a Editor of International Journal of Steel Structures by Springer.
