About the Prof.
Professor Kim's research integrates "Air Quality & Environmental Engineering" with "Material Engineering," focusing on advanced novel materials such as Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). His significant contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including being named one of the top 10 National Star Faculties in Korea in 2006 and becoming an academician of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology in 2018. Clarivate Analytics recognized him as a "Highly Cited Researcher (HCR)" in 2019 within the "Environment & Ecology" field. Actively contributing to the academic community, he serves as an associate editor for "Environmental Research," "Sensors," and "Critical Reviews in Environmental Science & Technology." With over 1,050 published articles, his work frequently appears in leading scientific journals in environmental engineering.

Research Interests

Development and implementation of sensing and detection methods for environmental and biological targets (including VOCs and heavy metals), and establishment of quality assurance (QA) technologies for pollutant monitoring.

Development and performance evaluation of various functional catalysts and adsorbent materials for environmental, energy, and biological applications.

Development of air purification and environmental remediation technologies using advanced functional materials, such as metal–organic frameworks (MOFs).
